With a DMC-EZ (DICOM Media Creator)  system equipped with advanced software, your institution will save time and money while improving patient care. Connected to any DICOM network, a DMC-EZ system enables recording patient studies onto medical grade DVD or CD, drastically reducing film costs and streamlining workflow. To simplify the management of patient images from multiple modalities, DMC-EZ systems can be operated from the Web browser of any PC on the same network.

DICOM Compliant top
The DMC-EZ works in any standard DICOM environment, allowing hospitals and clinics to simply burn and label a customized set of DICOM studies onto CD/DVD. The CD/DVD study data can be read by any DICOM compatible viewer or imported into any DICOM-compatible system/archive. The CD/DVD media created by the DMC-EZ are fully IHE compliant.

Automated and/or Manual Operating Modes top
The DMC-EZ has the ability to automatically create CDs and DVDs using rules based schedules or manually create media using our web interface. The rules based schedules along with the image cache on the DMC-EZ server allow the facility to optimize their robotic hardware to handle large and small jobs. The DMC-EZ software can be configured to run bulk media writes at night as well as intelligent spanning of data across discs to minimize frustrating “disc swapping.”

Multiple AE titles and Scheduling top
DMC-EZ systems have the capability to maintain multiple AE titles and, with our rules based scheduling, can be configured to automate most of the disc creation workflow. An example would be a rule that automatically creates a CD for each CT exam sent to the DMC-EZ. (AE title and corresponding schedule would be “CT Patient CD”) In addition, we could implement a date/time schedule which would archive all of the CT Studies to DVD at the end of the day. Media creation rules can be easily configured using AE Title, Sending Device or DICOM Tag.

DICOM Viewer Included top
Discs created with DMC-EZ systems include a series of industry standard DICOM viewers (e.g. EZDICOM, OsiriX - Macintosh viewer)for clients without their own DICOM viewing software. This makes all your DICOM study discs “ready to read”. Many OEM viewers can be added.

Include Diagnostic Reports and Non-DICOM Data on CD top
DMC-EZ can fetch reports from PACS, PACS Broker and RIS utilizing SR or HL7. Software can also attach Non-DICOM Data to studies (i.e. pdf, word files, etc..) Users will be able to include reports from the Centricity PACS or PACS Broker.

Ability to View Complete Report on Disc with Key Images and Hyperlinks top
DMC-EZ also has the ability to integrate the Diagnostic Report with Key Images (Hyperlinks), leading referring  physicians straight to the most relevant images.

Labeling Capabilities top
DMC-EZ supports both thermal and ink-jet printing solutions. The DMC-EZ medical recording software allows for simple generation of unique and customizable labels including logos, patient demographics, volume and study information, as well as customized user comments.

Study Disc Anonymization top
All DMC-EZ models allow anonymization of discs to ensure patient confidentiality of images used in instructional and conference presentations.

View Image Thumbnails Prior to Disc Creation top
DMC-EZ gives the user the ability to view series and image details prior to DISC creation. This feature helps eliminate costly errors and saves valuable time at each site.

Image Distribution via Web Viewer for Easy Use by Referring Physicians top
DMC-EZ has an easy-to-use web viewer, designed to allow practitioner to view studies with reports in seconds. Full-featured reference viewer provides a complete set of Radiology measurement and annotation tools (Distance, Angle, ROI, Reference Lines, etc.). Multi-modality support includes single frame (CT, MRI, CR) and multi-frame (U/S, XA) capability. Users can easily print selected images to a Windows printer for reference.

Image Distribution via USB Flash for Easy Use by Referring Physicians top
DMC-EZ systems can create zip files of patient studies and record to USB Flash. Zip files can also be sent via email to referring physicians.

Encryption top
DMC-EZ software provides the option to encrypt data on the disc. This has become increasingly important in some countries and states with stringent privacy concern and need for regulatory compliance.

DICOM Routing top
DMC-EZ includes rules based DICOM routing as an important feature. Automated routing allows the facility to send exams to specific destinations based on unique DICOM tags.

HIPAA Readiness top
All DMC-EZ activity is recorded in audit logs and archive logs. Logs can be exported via email or network transfer on an automatic basis each day. These logs enable the facility to track CD/DVD activity for HIPAA purposes and can also provide a shelf management system for media stored in house.

Automated Back-Up and Restore top
DMC-EZ provides a simple utility which can be set to automatically back up all configuration, label, database and network settings to USB Media, CD/DVD or Network. The utility provides enhanced serviceability as the backup provides an easy way to restore the system if hardware is replaced.

Media Import from DICOM Discs top
DMC-EZ systems include an import utility which makes it easy to import the required data from DICOM Part 10 compatible CD/DVDs received from outside facilities. The user can simply import selected patients and/or studies and send to PACS Server or other DICOM destination.

Whether it’s a single modality at an imaging center or a busy radiology or cardiology department, the DMC-EZ disc burners  offer immediate and real improvements in the dissemination and storing of patient studies.

Examples:
A busy radiology department automatically records two CD copies of every CT exam: one for the referring physician and one for the department archive, all by simply creating a rule to drive the automated disc creation process.

A cardiology department includes important patient education materials on every cath or echo study CD given to patients, helping physicians teach patients about disease management.

An imaging center automatically records all of a referring physician’s studies on a DVD each day, including his or her preferred viewer, simplifying and expediting review and communication with the patient.

A small clinic uses the DMC-EZ system to archive all studies to disc in preparation for a future PACS implementation. DMC-EZ can automatically create two copies – one for onsite use and one for off-site disaster recovery.

A leading teaching institution relies on the DMC system to de-identify patient studies for lectures and uses the system to quickly duplicate discs for distribution to medical students.
