Healthcare is increasingly a distributed business and must be able to rapidly move patient studies from the imaging facility to the reading radiologist and finally to the referring physician. These participants are often in separate locations, and may move from facility to facility. Specialists are often required to read specific types of exams, further complicating this process. This complex set of requirements makes the manual distribution of this critical data an extremely difficult, error-prone and time consuming task, ultimately leading to higher costs and slow response times.

To maximize the return on investments, technicians and physicians often need to quickly review studies before patients can be released. If this review can occur outside the modality room, another technician and a second patient may use the modality while the first patient’s study is under review.

The PACStacks iCAS DICOM Router automates the distribution of DICOM studies to patients and referring physicians, both onsite and offsite. This innovative technology designed by SENCOR allows hospitals and clinics to securely, automatically and simultaneously route study data to multiple DICOM nodes and be confident that data will be accurate when it arrives.

Persistent Store and Forward

PACStacks iCAS DICOM Router use’s a persistent store-and-forward technology that continually tries to send data until it is successful. The ability to make multiple re-tries ensures the safe delivery of data independent of the quality of the communications link. Choose from a variety of compression levels for the most efficient routing of data across networks with different speeds.

DICOM Compliant

SENCOR ensures compatibility with the widest range of DICOM modalities as well as PACS viewing workstations and film digitizing libraries from a variety of different vendors.

Rules-Based Routing

Studies can be scheduled for delivery based on any combination of date, time, location, or any DICOM tag.

Authentication of Delivery

The iCAS architecture guarantees the integrity of delivered DICOM data by enlisting multiple levels of integrity checks before and after data is transferred between any PACStacks iCAS device. If any bad data is received, the data is automatically resent. This is important because standard DICOM protocol lacks the ability to complete integrity tests, therefore exposing users to the clear possibility of receiving bad data with no warning.

The PACStacks iCAS DICOM Router provides unique data protection that ensures the secure and accurate electronic distribution of DICOM studies. Strong data encryption ensures safe routing across the Internet and password authentication enhances security protection.
