Update Policy (OS, Firmware, Drivers) DMC-EZ systems ship with an operating system selected and configured to provide reliable and proper operation of the DICOM Media Creator solution. The operating system must not be modified or updated without first verifying that updates have been approved for use on the DMC-EZ system. It is important to note that the end user is responsible for all updates to the operating system and this is not covered under warranty. Please refer to SST’s web site and link below for a list of approved OS updates. SST will not warranty the DMC-EZ Software, PC or Embedded Publishing System if system performance, reliability, or operability is affected as a result of an update which is not approved by SST. Current OS version: Windows XP SP3 All current Microsoft updates are supported except: SQL Server 2005 SP3 or later should not be installed on the DMC-EZ PC. Internet Explorer version 8 should not be installed on the DMC-EZ PC.
Firmware and Drivers installed on the PC, Embedded Publishing System, printer, and disc producer have been tested and validated to work with the DMC-EZ software application. The end user is responsible for all updates to firmware and drivers on the DMC-EZ DICOM Media Creator. Any changes to firmware or drivers which have not been approved by SST may have an adverse effect on the DMC-EZ software and/or hardware. Please refer to web site and link below for list of approved firmware and driver updates. SST will not warranty the DMC-EZ Software, PC, Embedded Publishing System, printer, or disc producer if system performance, reliability, or operability is affected as a result of an update which is not approved by SST. Current Firmware and Drivers Anti Virus and Third Party Software Protecting the DMC-EZ DICOM Media Creator solution from virus and other security threats is the sole responsibility of the end user. Anti-virus and other applications can be used on the DMC-EZ PC or Embedded Publishing System running the DMC-EZ software application; however care must be taken to limit the affect on the system’s performance. All anti-virus software should be configured to exclude real-time scanning of the image files. On the DMC-EZ systems, the files will be stored in sub-folders found in an "Images" folder in the root of one of the drive partitions. Scanning of the "Images" directory can be performed during off-peak hours; however the performance of the DMC-EZ system will be adversely affected while the scan is in progress. AntiVirus Other applications should not be installed on a DMC-EZ PC or Embedded Publishing System. IMPORTANT: During service of the DMC-EZ PC or Embedded Publishing System, it may be necessary to replace the hard drives, reload the software on the PC, or replace other system components. SST and its service providers are not responsible for the re-installation of updates or software mentioned in this Software Policies section or any software installed by parties other than SST or its authorized service provider. |
